We did it. Wild Rumpus and her crew sailed from Cape City to Grenada with stops in St Helena and Fernando de Noronha. We survived with out bodily harm, some bruises to our ego, some damaged boat elements, one stabbed dinghy, and an extra of Ostrich sausage that no one might convey themselves to eat, and all of us remained mates (or the crew was about to mutiny and we landed simply in time for my security). That is the tremendous temporary recap.
I’ve been dwelling for about 28 hours and thought I’d begin sharing some photos and provides some perception into our journey, which was deliberate for years and took months to finish. I’m hopeful the writing course of will assist me arrange the journey, which is now only a large mishmash of recollections in no specific order.

Leg 1- Cape City to St Helena
We departed within the late afternoon on July 14. The climate prediction was for cloudy climate with 14-16 foot seas. The crew for this leg included Stacey, Eric, Dinna, Bernard, Jay, and Nik (Nik is an Xquisite worker they despatched alongside since our shakedown was an ocean crossing.)



Leg 2- St. Helena to Fernando de Noronha
We stated goodbye to Nik on St. Helena and departed for Fernando de Noronha. Total, this was a relaxed sail with good winds and comparatively average seas.




Our go to to Fernando was beautiful. We left Jay there to make his manner again to the U.S. by way of Recife, Brazil. We had been additionally fortunate sufficient to re-meet Matt and Amy of Crusing Florence. We met them briefly at St. Helena and so they ended up anchoring subsequent to us for a couple of days.
Leg 3- Fernando de Noronha to Grenada
For the ultimate leg we had been all the way down to Stacey, Eric, Dinna, Bernard, and me.





Present Standing
I’m again in California, slowly acclimating to land life and focusing extra on work. Stacey and Eric now reside on the boat and are onerous at work fixing what we broke. Dinna and Bernard are off for extra adventures.
