  1. Thank you for this great video! I tried to do the research myself and was overwhelmed very quickly. Many websites still spread outdated, wrong info.
I bought a light to give a little boost to some of my tropical house plants and I really wasn’t sure if its 3000K warm white light would do anything. Now I know that it can’t be very wrong.

  2. I’ve got a 50w 5000lm 65000k floodlight/spotlight that I’m going to attempt growing my plants under in my dark lit windowless bathroom. Hopefully the PAR will be good enough for the plants.

  3. B.S. You are trying, but don’t seem to have a good handle on radiometic physics. A green plant is obviously not absorbing as much green as other wavelengths. The solar spectrum is basically a black body. Green is reflected by photosynthetic plant systems. Elemetary school science. Everything else is much higher order effect and used to confuse and sell products. LEDs are only capable of producing the wavelengths allowed by the semiconductor bandgap transitions. Turns out, LEDs don’t do “green” that well, and plants don’t absorb it much. Pretty good overlap.

  4. From what I remember in remote sensing, all the visible color bands are used. Blue and red have a higher amount of absorption while most of the green band is reflected from the chlorophyll. The best way of “seeing” if vegetation is healthy would be use of IR

  5. Question; is mars hydro ts 1000 good for indoor growing ? Because my plant just burned under them.

  6. Question: Are LED strips supposed to get hot to the touch? I just installed mine today, they’re very bright, but they’re not hot to the touch at all.

  7. It is quite clear that after billions of years of plant evolution “under the sun”, the best artificial illumination should simply imitate the sun’s spectral distribution.
